TRANSLATION

Another significant and helpful tool in my scholarship as well as my creative writings has been translation. This art of translation is practised not only at the level of language but also in transporting a deeper understanding of emotions and imagination into my writing. A poet like myself thinks in one language and measures and understands experiences in a different language. Only after translating poems, names, and events from Persian into English that I found a greater poetic space to congregate my thoughts and comprehend stories and journeys.

I translate essays, stories and poetry from Dari (Persian) into English.
